Welcome to swimming lessons with Mrs. Shira Goldsmith! With her extensive background in aquatics and special education, Mrs. Goldsmith is dedicated to providing a personalized learning experience for children and adults of all ages and abilities. She combines standard teaching methods with tailored strategies to ensure each child feels comfortable and confident in the water. Lessons take place in the serene environment of the Goldsmith's backyard or garage, creating a calm, sensory-friendly atmosphere that helps students focus and thrive without any of the noise or distractions of a bigger more public swimming school.

Shira Goldsmith is very patient with my 15 year old. She has autism and adhd and some physical issues and hadn't been successful with previous swim lessons. With encouragement and patience Reena is learning, slowly but surely! She's working on bobbing, floating, treading, and some basic arm and leg movements. I wish my swim teacher had been so patient with me when I learned to swim over 40 years ago!

At the beginning of the summer my 5 year old daughter was afraid to let go of the wall without a float or a life jacket. After several lessons she in now able to swim around the pool on her own! She is now working on learning how to breathe while swimming and I different strokes. I was amazed at how quickly shiri was able to get my daughter past her fears and able to swim. She has the perfect blend of patience , determination and understanding of how far to push each child to maximize their abilities as a swimmer , thank you.

Welcome to our lesson offerings! We provide a variety of options, including Private, Semi-Private, and Group lessons, each with unique durations, costs, and policies. Please note that group and semi-private lessons do not allow for individual cancellations or makeup lessons.

For private lessons, we require least 24 hours' notice for cancellations to avoid a full lesson charge. If weather conditions are unsafe for swimming, we will reschedule without charge. Only one lesson from a package of lessons can be rescheduled, the package discount is for a consistent weekly slot; additional cancellations will revert the pricing to our pay-as-you-go rates. Makeup Lessons must be done in the same calendar year or season as the lessons were paid for.

Payments is due on the day of the lesson, and packages must be paid for on the first day the package of lessons starts. If a person has 2 or more lessons not paid for, lessons will pause until the bill is paid or arrangements are made.

Credit Card is accepted with no extra charge for bills over $100. For smaller amounts, there will be is a 3.5% fee added to the cost of lessons.

Please note that lessons are for the child who signed up. There will be additional costs to have your other children swimming during your child's lessons.
Welcome to our Summer 2025 schedule! Due to Mrs. Goldsmith's ongoing health challenges, we are booking lessons for four weeks in advance to ensure flexibility for Mrs. Goldsmith as needed. As you approach the end of your four-week of sessions, you'll have the opportunity to schedule another set of lessons. If you have very limited availability and can only have lessons on limited days or times, we can try our best to accommodate those requests and book lessons further out in advance, as long as you keep in mind that changes may be necessary. We appreciate our loyal customers and thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time.
Please note: As students graduate from lessons and slots become available, we will contact new students in the order of the waiting list.
All cancellations must be 24 hours in advance in order to schedule a makeup session.
For sudden illnesses, makeup lessons will be provided if we are notified in writing before 9 AM.
The weather frequently changes and therefore we don't cancel lessons based on the weather forecast. If it thundering/lightning/ heavy storms 20- 30 minutes before your lesson, it will be rescheduled. If the outside temperature is below 60 degrees, only lessons in the swim spa will take place and outdoor lessons will be cancelled.
Private (1:1 for 25 min)
Semi Private (1:2 for 45 min)
Pay as you go : $50 per lesson for a 25 minute slot for 1 child ($10 extra for any additional children)
$100 for a 45 minute slot for 2 kids ($90 if it's for one child)
Lesson Packages effective May 2025:
$175 for 4 25 minute slots (for 1 student) , when a weekly slot is booked for 4 consecutive weeks (please note that packages are only for consistent time slots!)
Semi Private Lessons: $360 for 4 45 minute slots for 2 children from the same family (when a weekly slot is commited to for 4 consecutive weeks).
Please note prices subject to change when lessons are moved to 3360 Berkeley!
